Standing up for the Church and Moral Values

Last night, while watching Fox News, I was excited to see my good friend Minnesota State Senator Paul Gazelka being interview on the Laura Ingram show. He talked about the ruling by Minnesota Governor Walz to only allow 10 people or less at church services even though stores like Walmart, Home Depot and other stores are open for everyone who walks in.  Sen. Gazelka has met several times with the governor to try to convince him why he should change the law. Right now, “Anyone who "willfully" violates the order is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in a jail or a fine of up to $1,000. “

Sen. Paul Gazelka understands government, business, and ministry. I have known him for about 30 years, going back to when he ran a successful insurance business in Minnesota for many years and was very involved with ministries and numerous community activities. Before he became a state senator, Paul and I traveled together to minister in several nations.

I texted Sen. Paul right after the broadcast to compliment and exhort him and he immediately called me about what was going on. Later last night I thought of Moses going to Pharaoh to tell him to let the people go, but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, he just kept saying ‘No’ . Finally, Moses leads them out after the last plague.  I see Sen. Gazelka as a modern-day Moses, working to free the church from these tyrannical oppressive laws that the governor has imposed. As he leads the church from its present bondage to its future freedom in Minnesota, Sen. Gazelka truly is a fighter for and a leader of the people!   Read about his work in the Senate

 My Perspective

Catholic and Protestant churches of all types are in the process of uniting in this cause to open the churches. I have listened to Attorney Joseph Infranco with the Alliance Defending Freedom  that specializes in religious freedom issues, and other lawyers whose specialty is religious freedom including some constitutional lawyers. All have one conclusion; it is unconstitutional to forbid the assembly of people for religious purposes.  Churches, synagogues, mosques, and other religions all have freedom to meet according to the United States Constitution.

It may have been wise for shepherds of the flocks to protect the sheep, but there comes a time when they must gather together to feed the sheep and worship as one.  I do believe that each person should make up their own mind on whether or not to assemble with others in church services.  Some may choose not to attend because of their age or medical condition or from fear. Others will come out of faith and the conviction to do so. It is not a morally right or wrong question. There are options to be spiritually strengthened such as watching online services, reading the Word of God, worship and prayer that everyone can do, and often as a group online while in their own homes.

I strongly support Senator Paul Gazelka as he leads as State Senator and a defender of the faith and the faithful. My prayer for Sen. Gazelka is that he become either the next governor for Minnesota or a U.S. Senator representing Minnesota. He is a knowledgeable, wise, and strong Christian man who has many years of experience as a legislator and a debater regarding righteous and unrighteous laws.

Please pray for Sen. Paul Gazelka and also for my very good friend Rebecca Polis who is running for West Virginia State Senate for the first time. Voting is JUNE 9 for West Virginia!

Let me remind you what the Apostle Paul said to Timothy, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).

God calls us all to be engaged in our governments by at least voting. And for many, he calls us to be engaged working and supporting candidates. Listen to the Holy Spirit guide you how to help and encourage righteous candidates in their fight for the church!

Building together with Him and you,
