Homothymadon – In One Accord!

Today I remember a great trip to Japan several years ago arranged by one of my spiritual sons and intercessors, Apostle Israel Kim (sitting next to me in a white shirt). He gathered a group of successful Christian business leaders in Tokyo who shared how God is using them to make an impact for Christ in the marketplace. I told them how God is moving worldwide and how they have many brothers and sisters who share their passion for ministry while doing business. We had a great time together and I would love to see them all again!

Apostle Israel and I were in Osaka doing meetings the day before and we had to take the Bullet Train to Tokyo. That experience reminded me of my childhood! One of my passions as a child was my train collection - a set of O-gauge trains and tracks that provided many enjoyable hours of play. I also loved riding on any trains I could, so riding the Bullet Train from Osaka to Tokyo was a real thrill! Of course, all my trains had wheels – and Bullet Trains don’t – so I had to find out how we had such a smooth ride while traveling at over 300 mph!

Magnets. The train has magnets underneath each car that raise it above the track, which has coils with an electric current creating a magnetic field that pushes and pulls the train along the track. Wow! Magnets and coils working perfectly in sync moved us to our destination in Tokyo.

It reminds me of one of my favorite words, homothymadon: with one mind, one passion – unanimously working together, rushing along with one accord. The Book of Acts describes the early Church as living in homothymadon: “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart…” (Acts 2:46)

“And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch” (Acts 5:12).

If we are to complete the work God has sent us to do on earth such as bring restoration and influence culture,  then the Church needs to be in homothymadon – working together in one accord.

When hearts are in one accord with God and the communication is right between each person, there is no friction, and we can all move along together to build His Kingdom on earth by His pattern.

However, to be in one accord requires humility: putting God first, others second, and self last.

It requires each person to be and do exactly by the Word, by the Masterplan, by the talent and skills each is given by the Father, in the proper time, with a Godly attitude.

Together we can build the Kingdom of God faster, like Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem building the wall in only 52 days. We move God’s plan ahead more smoothly and effectively, like the Bullet Train, gliding instead of noisily grating our way to our destination!

My prayer is that we move in homothymadon – unanimously in heart and mind with God’s passion for building according to His pattern.

God wants His Church be - As One!
