Not Me, but We!

During a recent Zoom call, I heard someone who identified as an apostle and a spiritual father say, “As an apostle you discover, it’s lonely at the top!”

I immediately thought, if he is an apostle and a spiritual father, how can he be lonely? Because that has definitely not been my experience!

Whatever accomplishments that have taken place in my missional apostolic assignments have been because of the various Core Teams that surrounded and supported me and the mission.

My Dad was a supervisor of teams of men building many high steel structures and bridges. He taught me, “ I lead teams, and WE build bridges, not I build bridges!

When I played football, I learned a team wins and loses together.

There is No star player. No star coach.

It takes the Whole Team to win.

It was - We won or We lost.

Over decades of ministry, it hasn’t been me - but WE.  Jesus built a team, Paul had teams.

When it’s ‘WE’ - it’s never lonely at the top because a team, a spiritual family is with you.

So, I say, “It’s crowded and cozy at the top!”
